Tindy C wins national award for Radio Fox

20 March 2016 – The national Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) awards were held on Saturday 19th March. These are the hospital radio equivalent of the Oscars. Out of the 100s of entries from every hospital radio station in the country 3 Radio Fox presenters made it into the top 10.

Our successful nominees were for Female Presenter Of The Year: Emily Crewe and Tindy C. Also nominated for Best Specialist Show was Alan T’s It’s That Soul & Motown Show.

On the night Tindy C won the bronze prize so congratulations to Tindy and congratulations to Radio Fox for getting through to the finals. Apart from the partying till dawn an important message was made by the HBA following a national scientific survey on the impact of hospital radio on patients wellbeing. A low resolution image of the results can be seen by Clicking Here.  To see the full HBA report Click Here.

Many thanks to all the supporters of Radio Fox for your best wishes.  The Fox did good.

A new show begins on Radio Fox – Every Friday from 7pm – Absolute Beginners

7pm, Friday 4th March sees the start of a brand new show on Radio Fox called Absolute Beginners. The show is hosted by one of Radio Fox’s newest recruits Nick Gale, fresh out of the Radio Fox training school.

Absolute Beginners is a specialist music show centred around the music of Modernist Pop Culture from the 1950s onwards, hence the show’s title taken from the Colin MacInnes novel. Although the title could equally be a reference to the 1980s film, or the David Bowie song or even The Jam’s No 4 hit from 1981. It might even refer to the fact that this is Nick’s first ever show on Radio Fox.

What does that mean musically? It means Nick will be playing anything from Modern Jazz from the 1950s, music popular with the scooter riding mods of the 1960s through to the Britpop era from the turn of the century. So that is a great selection of music in store every Friday from 7pm.

Nick has travelled the globe and has many an interesting anecdote to share with you along the way so tune in every Friday from 7pm and share an amusing hour of great music with Nick Gale.Mod1
